  1.     Audio Compositor v3.3d

  3.     Audio Compositor is software for realizing standard MIDI files        
  4.     directly as digital audio.  Scores that are not too demanding can     
  5.     be processed in real time and played on your computer's sound         
  6.     card.  Alternatively, the output may be directed to a .WAV file       
  7.     for later playback and in this mode Audio Compositor can deal         
  8.     comfortably with extremely complex scores and extraordinarily         
  9.     large collections of input samples.  This capability, along with      
  10.     an unusually complete MIDI implementation including complex           
  11.     modulation routings, is what distinguishes Audio Compositor           
  12.     from most of the currently available software MIDI players.

  14.     Audio Compositor can also be driven in real time from your            
  15.     computer's MIDI IN port that is, it can act as a sound module         
  16.     that you can play from a MIDI keyboard.  Your sound card's            
  17.     wavetable capability, if it has any, is bypassed.  The program's      
  18.     performance in this role will vary depending on processor speed       
  19.     and available physical memory; on less than a Pentium-class           
  20.     system it does not make for a really playable musical instrument,     
  21.     but can still be a useful aid to patch editing.  Quite often, you     
  22.     will need to make some adjustments to get the best realtime           
  23.     results from Audio Compositor on your system
